Chairman and Founding Partner at Kiina Investment
Mr. David Ho is Chairman and Founding Partner of Kiina Investment, a venture capital fund that invests in start-up companies in the Telecommunications, Media and Technology industry across China and North America. Mr. Ho is also the Senior Advisor for Greater China with Permira, a private equity firm based in London with committed capital of over €26 billion.
Mr. Ho currently serves as Independent Director for Pentair Plc (NYSE: PNR since 2007), Air Products and Chemicals Inc (NYSE: APD since 2013) and Qorvo Inc (NASDAQ: QRVO since 2015) in the United States, and ChineseALL Digital Publishing Co., Ltd. (300364.sz since 2015) on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in China. Mr. Ho also serves on the Board as External Director of three Chinese State Owned Enterprises: China Mobile Communications Corporation since 2016, China COSCO Shipping Corporation since 2016, and Sinosteel Corporation since 2008.
Prior to November 2008, Mr. Ho served as Chairman of Greater China for Nokia Siemens Networks responsible for the €1.6 billion business operation, restructure and integration of the Nokia networks and Siemens communications businesses in the new company. Mr. Ho served as President of Greater China for Nokia Corporation, between April 2004 and March 2007, during this period Nokia’s overall business in Greater China grew from €3.7 billion in 2003 to €10.1 billion in 2006. Mr. Ho served as Senior Vice President of the Nokia Networks Business Group responsible for the group’s business operations in the Greater China Area since October 2001.
Between 1983 and 2001, Mr. Ho held senior management positions with Motorola Corporation and Nortel Networks in Canada, Hong Kong and China.
Mr. Ho graduated in 1983 from the University of Waterloo in Canada with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, and obtained his Masters degree in Management Sciences in 1989. Mr. Ho is a Canadian citizen and a proud recipient of the China Permanent Residence Card.
